Entering a New Paradigm for Living

(This article can also be found in the Fall 2020 edition of The Ascension, the journal of the Spiritual Response Association.)

I think it is safe to say that 2020 is going to be a year that nobody alive today will ever forget. Over the past eight months, our world has changed in ways we could never have imagined and yet, we are still here, trying to make sense of who we are and who we will be going forward. Our old paradigms of work, family, the present, the past, and the future have been shaken and torn to the ground, leaving many of us and our fellow humans wondering where we go from here.

History is full of events and times that have challenged humanity on an existential level, and each time we have found a way to move forward. The Black Death led to new innovations in agricultural and industrial production, which led to advances in philosophy and religious thought, which led to the Reformation, the Enlightenment, and the Age of Revolutions. Over time, the belief in the sanctity of life and liberty led to the end of institutional slavery, gave rise to two world wars, and brought about the birth of the New Spirituality or New Age movement.

In the later part of the twentieth century, many New Age prophets could sense the wave of change that was about to come to humanity, like the bow wave of a great ship on the ocean. Robert Detzler, Ram Dass, Drunvalo Melchizedek, Michael Harner, Pema Chodron, Eckhart Tolle, and countless others wrote, taught, and researched new technologies to help humanity in this next step of our evolution. When you read these teachers, you quickly discover that they all have similar messages, metaphors, and methods for humanity to follow so we can better understand and adapt to the changes that are upon us at this time in our history.

The events of 2020 are the next page in the story of humanity’s experiential journey, bringing us ever closer to SPIRIT. This year is teaching us to reconnect with ourselves and our families, to rethink the nature of our work, and to turn an uncomfortable eye towards injustice. The lingering karma of a past, we have tried too hard to forget, continues to exist in the Akashic record of humanity’s journey.

SPIRIT tells us that we must “Balance (the) Energy of Love (through) SPIRIT” (Chart 32) if we are to be a part of the new paradigm as it emerges on our planet. It also reminds us that many of us remain blocked by “Dark Forces” (Chart 5), which are the memories and karma of millennia of injustice we have been responsible for throughout our many different lifetimes. Finding this balance is not as difficult as you might imagine. The balance of love exists in our love for our children, the kindness of our friends and strangers, and the love from our Mother Earth or Gia herself!

To reset, is to pause and orient ourselves in a new, more favorable direction. It is to take a moment to see what we have been doing wrong all this time, and to choose a new path for our lives. As SRT Practitioners, we have been doing this work all along with every program and block we have cleared since the day we were introduced to this research and healing modality. Now, we get to see this happening on a wider stage, across all of humanity!

One thing we know for absolute certainty is that we cannot go back to where we were before. Our eyes have been opened to the light. We are more interconnected with all life in the cosmos than at any other time in recorded history. The way of the past is the way back to darkness. Live the light, be the light, and release all expectation about what will happen next, because nothing from our past experience is going to apply to what is about to come!

Thank you SPIRIT!
